Known as both The Constitution State and The Nutmeg State, Connecticut is one of the original Thirteen Colonies. Located in the New England region, Connecticut experiences hot and humid temperatures in the summer and cold winters throughout the state. Although it’s the third smallest state, Connecticut has over twenty-five colleges and universities within small town settings. Don’t be turned away by the size; however, Connecticut’s landscapes vary from rolling mountains to horse-farms, to the “Gold Coast”. Connecticut was the fifth state admitted to the Union on January 9, 1788.
